Who we are

Watching the detectives

We are professional people-watchers.

Our principals have led teams and businesses; taught every kind of leadership skill; and have decades of experience in analysing behaviour.  But for even longer than that, they've loved detective fiction.

Sue Bilton

First career: Sue worked in marketing communications for corporate businesses, including what are now Marriott and Heineken.  She learned a great deal about how people behave within complex organisational structures.   Like Dorothy L Sayers, she then spent several years as a copywriter on international brands.

Second career: She's now in her third decade as a coach, specialising in leadership, confidence, communication and change. She has worked with people in roles from Chair to trainee.  Coaching builds expertise in detailed observation, active listening and behavioural analysis. She is therefore extremely adept at understanding and interpreting how people behave in pressured situations.

Sharon Gregory

First career:  Sharon originally trained and practised as a Careers Advisor.  She built on this knowledge to become an Ofsted inspector of colleges and secondary schools.

Second career:  Sharon then moved on to become a Quality Manager, working  to deliver excellence across complex organisations. She followed this with  Directorial roles in Operations for several  careers/young people's service providers in the public and third sectors. She holds an MSc in occupational psychology.

Third career: She has been the owner/operator of several consumer-facing businesses, giving her first hand knowledge of how pressures drive individuals' behaviour.
